Ensuring a Harmonious & Safe Living Environment
At Gurukul Public School, our hostels are designed to provide a secure, supportive, and structured environment for students. To ensure the well-being and harmonious coexistence of all residents, we have established a set of guidelines that must be followed. These rules promote respect, responsibility, and community living.
General Conduct
1. Respect and Courtesy: Students are expected to treat all hostel mates, staff, and visitors with respect and courtesy at all times.
2. Quiet Hours: Quiet hours are observed from 9:00 PM to 6:00 AM to ensure a peaceful environment for study and rest.
3. Cleanliness: Residents must maintain cleanliness and hygiene in their rooms and common areas. Regular inspections will be conducted.
4. Dress Code: Appropriate attire must be worn at all times within the hostel premises. Sleepwear is permitted only in rooms and not in common areas.
Safety and Security
5. Curfew: All students must adhere to the designated curfew times and be inside the hostel by 8:00 PM.
6. Visitor Policy: Visitors are allowed only during specified visiting hours and must register at the hostel office. No overnight guests are permitted.
7. Room Keys: Students must keep their room keys secure and report any loss immediately. Duplicating keys is strictly prohibited.
8. Emergency Procedures: Students must familiarize themselves with emergency procedures and participate in all safety drills.
Room Regulations
9. Room Allocation: Room changes are permitted only with prior approval from the hostel warden.
10. Personal Belongings: Students are responsible for their personal belongings. Valuables should be stored securely.
11. Prohibited Items: The following items are prohibited in the hostel: alcohol, tobacco, drugs, weapons, and any hazardous materials.
12. Electrical Appliances: The use of unauthorized electrical appliances is prohibited. Only approved appliances may be used.
Daily Routine
13. Wake-Up Call: Students are required to wake up by 6:00 AM on weekdays to ensure they are ready for the day’s activities.
14. Attendance: Attendance is mandatory for all meals, study sessions, and hostel activities unless excused by the hostel warden.
15. Meal Timings: Students must adhere to the designated meal timings and maintain decorum in the dining hall.
16. Study Hours: Dedicated study hours are from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM on weekdays, and students must observe silence during this time.
Conduct and Discipline
17. Behavior: Any form of bullying, harassment, or discrimination is strictly prohibited and will result in disciplinary action.
18. Vandalism: Damaging hostel property is a serious offense. Students will be held financially responsible for any damage caused.
19. Leave Policy: Students wishing to leave the hostel premises for any reason must obtain prior permission from the hostel warden.
20. Substance Abuse: The use of alcohol, tobacco, or drugs is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate expulsion.
Health and Well-being
21. Medical Emergencies: Students must report any medical emergencies immediately to the hostel warden or medical staff.
22. Personal Hygiene: Students must maintain personal hygiene and participate in regular health check-ups organized by the school.
23. Counseling Services: Students are encouraged to seek counseling services if they need emotional or psychological support.
Community Living
24. Participation: Active participation in hostel activities, events, and community service is encouraged to foster a sense of belonging.
25. Feedback: Students are encouraged to provide feedback and suggestions to improve hostel life.
